Day 22/Reason #4: The first unalienable right enunciated in the history of the nation

Life.

In Obama, we have the most pro-abortion candidate to ever run for president. For partial-birth abortion. For government funding of abortion. Against life-saving measures for children who survive abortions.

Radical.

McCain and Palin have been and are consistently pro-life.

I want to take a moment to speak to those who do not share my pro-life views. I believe -- as did the founders -- that abortion should be a matter for the individual states to decide. Most conservatives share this viewpoint. If Roe v. Wade were repealed, we would be back to where we started in this country. Each state could decide.

Undoubtedly, some states would keep abortion legal while others would restrict abortions, and perhaps outlaw it. In our great federalist system, we can quickly see what works in areas such as education, tax policy, etc. The same can and would be true for abortion.

I realize and respect that this is a difficult issue. Many of us have been personally affected by abortion.

While respecting those who disagree with me on this issue, as a pro-lifer, I am proud to support McCain-Palin.
